Peptide Reconstitution Calculator
Free peptide calculator: work out the concentration after reconstitution with bacteriostatic water, the volume per dose, and the units on a U-100 insulin syringe. Enter the three values and hit Calculate.
Fill in all three fields with positive numbers.
Reference table: concentration by dilution
| Vial | 1 ml | 2 ml | 3 ml | 5 ml |

Frequently asked questions
How do you reconstitute a peptide with bacteriostatic water?
Add the water slowly down the side of the vial rather than directly onto the lyophilised powder. Swirl gently, never shake. Store the resulting solution refrigerated.
How much water should I add to a 5 mg vial?
There is no single correct amount — the water only sets the concentration. With 2 ml of water the concentration is 2.5 mg/ml, which makes doses easy to measure on a U-100 syringe.
What do the IU marks on an insulin syringe mean?
A U-100 syringe is graduated into 100 units (IU) per millilitre, so 10 IU equals 0.1 ml. The calculator converts dose volume straight into syringe units.
How long is a reconstituted peptide stable?
It depends on the compound, but the common rule of thumb for research purposes is 3–4 weeks refrigerated at 2–8°C. Pre-filled dosing pens use a stabilised solution with a longer shelf life.
