Description
Melanotan II (MT-2) is available for sale at PeptaMED in a stabilised pen format with independent batch testing — supplied strictly for scientific research purposes.
What is Melanotan II?
Melanotan II is a synthetic cyclic peptide designed as an analogue of the body’s own alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH). First developed at the University of Arizona, it acts as a non-selective agonist of the melanocortin receptor family — receptors involved in pigmentation control among other physiological processes.
In the scientific literature, MT-2 is studied chiefly in the context of melanogenesis, the biological process by which melanin is produced. Its compact cyclic structure grants it better stability than linear α-MSH, which makes it a practical model compound for receptor research. MT-2 also serves as a starting scaffold in the development of newer, more selective melanocortin ligands.
Format and Quality
The product is a stabilised solution in a dosing pen with 200 graduations of 50 mcg each — 10 mg of Melanotan II in total. Every batch is independently tested by HPLC at ≥99% purity, with an accompanying certificate of analysis. Refrigerate and protect from light to preserve activity. The pen’s fine graduations allow precise measurement, while batch numbering ensures full analytical traceability.
